About Our Staff

Alyssa - Front Office/ Medical Assistant

Alyssa was born and raised on the western slope of Colorado. For undergraduate, she wanted to experience a new state and moved to Michigan, where she received her BS from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. Although she loved Michigan summers, she missed Colorado and returned to pursue graduate school in her home state.

In 2020, Alyssa graduated with her Master's in Biomedical Science from Regis University. She then taught undergraduate biology labs at Regis as an affiliate faculty member before switching to healthcare. Before joining Castle Rock Foot and Ankle, Alyssa was a medical assistant at a dermatology clinic in Broomfield, CO. She plans to apply to medical school.

Alyssa is excited to use her background to continue learning in a new area of medicine. She prioritizes connection with patients because she believes that is key to helping them get the best care possible. In addition to working as a medical assistant, she is part of the front office team and enjoys greeting patients when they arrive for their appointments.

Alyssa enjoys reading, paddle boarding, painting, and hiking with her dog, Rosie.

Rebecca - Medical Assistant

Rebecca is interested in a future career in medicine. She is studying for her Bachelors in Biology at Colorado Mesa University with the hope to go into orthopedic surgery. She graduated from Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado in 2022; she lettered in women’s varsity golf all four years. During her senior year of high school, she found a love and talent for ceramic art and hopes to pursue that more when she goes back to University.

Before Rebecca joined the team, she was a patient of Dr. Herzog back in 2018 and found a career in podiatry to be interesting. When she was offered to come as summer help and during breaks from school, she accepted the opportunity and has learned a lot about working in health care.

When she is not working, Rebecca enjoys fly fishing in nearby rivers and going on camping trips with her friends to national parks. When she goes back to University in the fall, she will continue to take classes and go to guide school to be a fly guide during the summer and fall months.
